The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has assured that the prices of petroleum would be reduced soon.

During a radio interview on 3FM’s Sunrise, the head of pricing at NPA, Abbas Ibrahim Tasunti stated that management has been monitoring the international market and can say that the prices of petroleum products would come down which will affect prices in Ghana.

After the recent increase in fuel prices, there has been massive concern and reactions from the public. A lot has predicted that fuel prices will hit GHc 7.00 per liter soon and has called on the government to reduce levies on petroleum prices.

However, Abbas Ibrahim has assured the public that prices of fuel will soon come down. “Ghanaians should expect price reduction in the next window”. he said on 3FM’s Sunrise show.

“We have seen the international market and we believe prices would come down by the next pricing window.”

Asked when the next pricing window would be, Mr. Tasunti said “the next pricing window is the first week of December”, he added.

Currently, a litre of petrol and diesel are hovering between GH¢6.85 per litre for Goil, GH¢6.99 for others, depending on which Oil Marketing Company (OMC) one is buying from
