The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has issued a warning to Ghanaians to desist from consuming one of the flavors of instant noodles called Indomie.

According to the press release from FDA, Indomie instant noodles chucked flavor with the phrase “Iadha ya kuku” is not verified and approved to be consumed by consumers nor put on sale in the market.

The press statement also said that the Chicken flavor products from certain countries due to the suspected presence of high levels of aflatoxins and pesticides. Emphasizing on the product, FDA stated that the Iadha ya kuku

is not registered in Ghana.

However, the only indomie instant chicken Noodles product that is registered in Ghana is the ones locally manufactured and only coassionalyy sourced from Nigeria. The locally produced products have been rigorously processed and tested before market authorization.

Meanwhile, some tests are being conducted and some samples have been taken to the Centre for Laboratory services and research for more investigations, the release said.
