Former Blackstars And Accra Hearts of Oak talisman, Bernard Don Bortey a.k.a ‘Don Dada or The Serial Killer’ has debunked the news that he used juju to play football when he was in fine form.
Bernard Don Bortey is one of the finest players who have graced the Ghana premier league in recent years. He was a prolific striker in his hay days when he was playing for Accra Hearts of Oak. He tormented players and made the life of goalkeepers unbearable with his deadly strikes and spectacular goals.
According to him, his footballing skill is a natural gift from God and no man can claim to have bestowed or enshrined it in him. He said he inherited it from his family and didn’t need help from a fetish priest to play football.

Speaking at an interview with Asempa FM on the Ultimate Sports Show, he confirmed having a white mouse which people believed to be the source of his power to play football. Some went as far as claiming they saw him offer prayers and schnapps to the mouse but he claims they are all false.
That white mouse was given to me as a gift by one player called Shepherd. That guy used to cover his lamp with the Ghana flag anytime he played because he was a herdsman and loved animals.
He told me about the white mouse that one white man gave to him but when I heard about it, I was astonished since I hadn’t come across one before. He promised to show it to me but when he brought it, he gifted it to me,
I don’t understand why in our part of the world, it’s like that. When Messi and Maradona scored goals with their hands, people tagged them as exceptional players but Don Bortey does same and it is attributed to Juju,”
He added that he is unfazed about the situation because the mouse died in his car due to the heat.
