Mark Zanotti began his career at Scarborough and played fullback most of the time before moving on to Subiaco in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He participated in their 1986 premiership and took home the Simpson Medal in the grand final for best on the ground.

He joined the VFL the next season and played for West Coast’s debut team. He relocated to Brisbane after two seasons, where he enjoyed his greatest season (1990), placing third in their best and fairest.

From 1993 until 1995, he completed his career at Fitzroy, adding 57 games. He played interstate football five times for Western Australia in addition to three VFL/AFL clubs. He relocated to the UK after concluding his career in Australia, where he was a founding member of the London Gryphons, who later changed their name to the Putney Magpies.

Mark Francesco Zanotti is a retired Australian rules football player who was a member of the Fitzroy Football Club, Brisbane Bears, and West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Mark Zanotti was a fiercely competitive defender who enjoyed nothing more than to sprint the entire length of the field in order to kick a goal. He was incredibly quick and athletic. After starting his senior football career with Scarborough, an amateur team, Subiaco hired him. He participated in 60 senior games for the Lions between 1983 and 1988. He was named the best player on the field in the 1986 Grand Final victory over East Fremantle while playing center half back.

Mark Zanotti played five seasons of interstate football for Western Australia before moving to Brisbane in 1989, where he added another 64 games and five goals during a four-season stint. From 1993 to 1995, Zanotti played 57 games and booted eight goals for Fitzroy. In 1987 and 1988, Zanotti alternated between the WAFL with ‘Subi’ and the VFL with West Coast, for whom he played 36 games and kicked six goals.
