We made an earlier report about an Accra High Court ordering Achimota School to admit the two Rastafarian students they refused to admit.

This ruling comes several months after the school initially stood their grounds stating that they were never going to admit the students just because of their hairstyle.

The news have been received by some Ghanaians and some reactions have been given out. Below are a few of some of the reaction from. Ghanaians;

@kingofaccra – Achimota School has lost the case against the Rasterfarian Boys

@Isaachoody1 – But if ebe me I wont go to the sch , They should rather have fine the sch or pass a law that no sch or what so ever should reject any raster ppl http://again.So basically the purpose of the law suit shouldn’t be for them that went to court to be admitted

@gyaigyimii – Tyron Marhguy, the Rastafarian who was denied admission to Achimota school wins his case. Nobody Can Stop Reggae!! Relieved faceRed heart I excite oo!

For shege reasons he shouldn’t go back to Achimota. Make dem go different school.

@Opresii – Achimota school Inna the mud.. mi afi talk Dem sey dema case abomboclat. Make Dem nuoo say Rastaman conquer ade whole Achimota school campus. We afi smoke Ganja Inna the whole place.

@iamowusuaa – The Rastafarian boy has won his case against Achimota school. Great news

@easydela – Those taking the stand with Achimota School against Rastafarians. I dare any of you to come out with the law that makes exceptions for white people to keep their hair in a government high school but bars a Rastafarian from same.

I took the stand against discrimination towards the Rastafarian students. I’m glad Achimota School lost the case.

@NiiOkai_Tetteh – Achimota reportedly lost the case… hair type should not be a requirement for admission… I was really praying for this because Ghanaian courts with colonial era laws can be very conservative and backwards sometimes.
