The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association has stated that contrary to the believe that they are regarded as essential workers the  government does not consider them essential workers.

According to them the government does not consider them essential workers because they don’t respect their condition of service.

Speaking in Starr FM and  monitored by ghgossip.com the PRO for the group Joseph Krampah suggested that the  government has taken a particular stands and the are unwilling to compromise.

“If you respect us as essential service providers then you don’t take an entrenched position because of the fact that if you are sitting on the table to negotiate the law asked you not to go on strike, and then we take that position and you call us and we come back all the time. We have suffered through so many governments up till now. It is time to speak up,”he stated.

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association embarked on a strike on Monday 21st September 2020 despite a court injunction by labour commision to stop the demonstration.
