Khemikal, a Ghanaian comedian has shared her harrowing ordeal with defunct financial and investment company, Menzgold.

In a recent interview with NYDJ, comedian Khemikal, whose real name is Daniel Selase, admitted to going into hiding after losing his entire life savings in the ad-hoc MenzGold credit collapse.

When questioned why he went into hiding because of the company’s financial issues, he answered,

“It was because of the MenzGold situation that I went into hiding (crisis). I experienced a financial setback and had to take a break…” ghbase.com recorded.

Khemikal, a multi-talented man, claimed that his multiple talents consumed the majority of his time, but that his wife was the one who forced him to find a good balance and turn back to comedy.

“I was attempting to strike a balance.” Because software engineering was pushing me in one direction and comedy was attempting to draw my attention in another, but God being so kind, I married and she was able to assist me in finding that balance. I was on the verge of giving up until she encouraged me to continue.”

Khemikal has, however, announced that he is back to comedy after going on a hiatus.

If you may not have forgotten, MenzGold Ghana Limited, was a phony gold dealer and investment organization that guaranteed customers a monthly return of 7 to 10% on their money.

The Ghanaian government subsequently decided to shut it down. Nana Appiah Mensah established it.
