Former Ghanaian football star, Charles Taylor, in a recent interview has stated categorically that he doesn’t regret pursuing football as a career.

Asked by the host if he has any regrets playing football, as most of his compatriots usually say they regret playing football, he stated emphatically that “No… I don’t regret, because if not for football, I wouldn’t have known where I would have been by now”.

He claims football has given him a lot of benefits, and when asked if he hadn’t pursued football as a career, where would he have been and he said “I don’t know”. He continued that he wasn’t ready to learn any trade so football has really helped him.

He says due to the love he had for football, he lost interest in school so he stopped school saying “At times, if you want to pursue football as a career and you are not careful, you can’t go to school”. Due to this, his parents normally lashed him.

Charles Taylor is a former Ghanaian footballer who played for great clubs like Great Olympics, Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko before going abroad to pursue his career. He is now a pastor and he is living in Accra with his family.
