Ghanaian international football player Ebenezer Assifuah expressed his desire to compete at the highest level during his career.

In an interview with Original TV, Ebenezer Assifuah claims that he is often struck with remorse and melancholy whenever he thinks about how far France midfielder Paul Pogba has progressed in football since the two of them played together at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup.

That is to say, he feels as though he is still in class one or has not achieved anything whenever he thinks back on the advancements or otherwise he has achieved in life or in his career as a footballer.

Assifuah contends that if he had been given more opportunities to play for the senior national team Black Stars, he may have contributed significantly more in terms of scoring goals for the team.

“When I watch players like Pogba, Umtiti, and the others, it makes me feel so depressed. The reason for this is that we all competed on the same stage at the FIFA U20 competition that was held in Turkey.

“The difference between us and them is that their nation recognized their potential and helped them develop their skills.

“At this point, they have all won the World Cup, and they are still playing. But for us, the minute we realized we weren’t going to be able to win the championship, it was the end of everything,” Ebenezer Assifuah lamented.
