According to him, he was contacted by Ghana Football Association (GFA) in this regard as the association was doing everything within its power to convince Ghanaian-born players abroad to switch their nationalities.

He made this known in a recent interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show on Monday where he said;

“The Ghana Football Association contacted me to help speak to some players abroad because they know I am close to them but they rejected the offer to play for the national team.

The players don’t want to be criticized because some of them saw what the Ghanaian media did to Asamoah Gyan.

I don’t know why the Ghanaian media criticize everything. They criticize players, coaches, and everything they see but that is not the way to go.”
