The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA)has reiterated that he will not step down from his position as president despite the despicable performance of the Black Stars.

The performance of the Ghana Black Stars has caused great confusion amongst a lot of people. There have been a series of backlashes from Ghanaians after the team was kicked out of the tournament on Tuesday.

The Black Stars after three games played lost twice and had a draw. The team lost all their matches and had one draw against Gabon coming out with 1 point.

On Tuesday’s match, Ghana Black Stars were humiliated by a 3-2 defeat by Comoros Islands resulting in their kick out from the tournament.

Following the poor performance of the team, several Ghanaians have called on the GFA president, Kurt Okraku to resign from his position for bringing back coach Milovan Rajevac to take the team to the AFCON.

But Mr. Okraku has shot down the suggestion of his resignation. In an interview with Asempa FM on the Ultimate Sports Show, he said, “I don’t think it is a topic that we should discuss. In 2006, we exited at the group phase and we never called for the heads of the people in charge.

“We have played in two finals and after failing to win the trophy nobody called for the exit of the people. I know people are angry by the performance of the team but I don’t think asking me to resign is the right thing but we have to stick together and fix the situation”, he added.
