It will be recalled that a petition that was led by the member of parliament representing Ashanti Akim-North, Hon. Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi on Tuesday 25th October 2022 during a media briefing informed the president to dismiss the finance minister and the minister of state at the finance ministry.

He said that the majority in parliament will not participate in any business relating to the government or the 2023 budget if the finance minister and the minister of state of the finance ministry are not removed from office with immediate effect.

This endeavor stems from earlier complaints expressed to the government, which received no constructive reaction. So far, 80 MPs of the NPP have signed this petition.

In rection to that, Nana Aba Anamoah has also compelled the finance minister to resign from office. In her tweet, she stated that if the minister had conscience and humility as a Christian, he needs to listen to the voice of the people.

She wrote; If you have a conscience and humility as the Christian you make us believe you are, you’ll acknowledge that the voice of people is the voice of God. RESIGN, KEN OFORI-ATTA. WALK AWAY.
