Indians are highly superstitious and religious people. They worship anything that resembles a deity including animals so I guess it is actually not shocking that a calf which was born with human features is being worshipped in Muzaffarnagar.

Online report says the calf (now dead) is being widely worshipped by locals who have hailed it as an incarnation of the Hindu god Lord Vishnu because of a body deformity which makes its face look like that of a human.

The calf was reportedly born in an animal shelter in Pachenda village but died within an hour of being born on Friday (June 2). The deformed animal was then placed on display because of its peculiar features that include almost human-like mouth, ears and nose. People have invaded the place to pay their respects to the animal, though there may be a fair number of people coming in just out of curiosity.

Raja Bhaiya Mishra, 55, the manager of the cow shelter, was quoted saying, ‘It’s a miracle that the calf was born in this shelter. Thousands of people have been here to see it. We will be cremating him in three days, and a temple will be built for him. This avatar has most definitely created a devotion feeling amongst the people.’

People have also been showering the animal with garlands and currency offerings. According to media reports, the locals thought this was the promised incarnation of Lord Vishnu, called ‘Gokaran’, who is supposed to be born as a saviour when the amount of sinners and sin increase on planet earth.

Very weird people indeed!
