Jacinda Arden Husband: Meet Clarke Gayford: – Jacinda Arden, officially called Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern is a New Zealand politician serving as the 40th prime minister of New Zealand and leader of the Labour Party since 2017.

Jacinda Arden was born on July 26, 1980, in Hamilton, New Zealand to Ross Ardern (father) and Laurell Ardern (mother) and was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand.

In 2015, she left the church because, according to her, it conflicted with her personal views, in particular her support for gay rights. Prior to 2008, she was a senior policy advisor to the then UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. In early 2008, Ardern won the election as the President of the International Union of Socialist Youth, a role that saw her spend time in countries such as Jordan, Israel, Algeria, and China.

In 2008, Ardern was elected to New Zealand’s Parliament for the Labour Party. She was the youngest MP in the parliament at that time. 7 weeks before the general election in 2017, she assumed the office of Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament and leader of the New Zealand Labour Party following the resignation of Andrew Little.

On March 8, 2017, Ardern became a member of Parliament for Mount Albert and in October 2017, she became the prime minister of New Zealand.
