Jason Roy parents-English cricketer, Jason Jonathan Roy was born on July 21st, 1990 in Durban, South Africa.

Roy was born to Chonel Roy and Craig Roy. He shares the same parents with his sister who goes by the name of Kristan Roy.

He attended The Hawthorns School for a while before enrolling at Whitgift School after moving to England from South Africa with his family when he was 10 years old. He played with Rory Burns, a fellow England opener who is his age, at Whitgift School.

In Surrey, he also participated for the neighborhood Reigate Priory Cricket Club. He competed for Surrey at the Under-11, Under-19, and Academy levels in age group cricket.

During the 2007 Surrey Under-19 tour of South Africa, he top-scored for Surrey with an innings of 51 against Western Province Under-19s in a one-day match.

He was a part of the Pemberton Greenish Surrey Academy’s 2008 class of athletes. On June 15, 2007, he made his one-day debut for the Surrey second team, scoring 48 from 33 balls in a Second XI Trophy match against Hampshire, which Surrey won by 3 runs.

When the ECB Regional Festival was held in Loughborough in July 2007, Roy was chosen to represent the South at the Under-17 level. He played in three matches, against the West, Midlands, and North. Roy did not make any other appearances for the Surrey second team in 2007.

Roy made a name for himself in the Surrey second team during the 2008 campaign. Roy made his Second XI Championship debut against a Hampshire attack that included South African Test match bowler Nantie Hayward, scoring 88 off 89 balls. Roy came to the crease with Surrey struggling at 89-4.

In addition to playing for the Test team, Roy represents England in cricket’s One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) competitions.

He plays for Surrey in domestic Twenty20 cricket and has also played for the Gujarat Lions, Delhi Daredevils, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

In addition to playing for the Test team in 2019, he made his ODI and T20I debuts in 2014 and 2015. He competed for England in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, which they won.

Roy bats as the opening right-handed hitter. In addition to holding the record for England’s best ODI partnership (256* against Sri Lanka during their 2016 tour of England), he and Alex Hales also claim the record for the highest ODI score (180 against Australia during England’s 2018 tour).
