Legally known as Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo, the R&B singer was born on March 16, 1988, in Los Angeles California in the United States of America to Dr. Karamo Chilombo and Christina Yamamoto. Being among the four children of her parents, Aiko has three half-siblings from her father’s side. One of her siblings also has a career in the entertainment industry as an R&B singer, and she is Mila J. She ventured into music at a very young age as a member of the R&B group, B2K where she w as a vocalist and as well appeared in their music videos. In November 2013, the American rapper released the EP Sail Out, which was number eight on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold 34,000 copies within a week. Her song The Worst, which was the third song in her album brought her breakthrough as she topped the chart on airplay Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop and as well became the first female to get to that domain with a debut single since 2008.
