John Isner Siblings: Meet His 2 Siblings: John Isner, officially known as John Robert Isner is a former American professional tennis player.

He developed a passion for playing tennis at a younger age and eventually started playing tennis at the age of 9 but did not take the sport seriously until the age of 11.

Isner began his professional career in earnest in the summer of 2007, was consistent throughout his career, and became one of the most sought-after professional tennis players.

He competed in the longest tennis match in history at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships to defeat Nicolas Mahut in a match which lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes and was played over the course of 3 days

Isner is considered one of the best servers ever to play on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. Isner was ranked as high as world No. 8 in singles and No. 14 in doubles by the ATP.

He achieved his career-high singles ranking in July 2018 following his first Masters 1000 crown at the 2018 Miami Open and a semifinal appearance at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships.

Isner holds the record for hitting the ATP’s fastest “official” serve ever and 3rd-fastest on record in tennis at 157.2 mph or 253 km/h during his first-round 2016 Davis Cup match

He twice reached the quarterfinals at the US Open in 2011 and 2018, the latter of which helped qualify him for an ATP Finals appearance later that year (2018).

Isner has the most aces in the history of the ATP Tour, having served 14,470, as of August 31, 2023. In a post via his verified Twitter account, he announced he will retire after the 2023 US Open.

“After 17+ years on the @atptour, it’s time to say goodbye to professional tennis. This transition won’t be easy but I’m looking forward to every second of it with my amazing family. The @usopen will be my final event. Time to lace ‘em up one last time. ❤️ ♥️ 💜”

The draw for the US Open took place on Thursday, 24 August, and the first round of matches started on Monday, 28 August.

In September 2023, Isner hit major headlines after he officially brought the curtain down on his professional career as he lost a five-set thriller to Michael Mmoh on Thursday, August 31.

The American veteran’s 17-year career ended with a 3-6 4-6 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 7-6 (10-7) loss as Michael fought back from match point down to win a tense fifth-set tie-break.
