Former Ghanaian president, John Mahama has reacted to the sad death of Queen Elizabeth II.

It could be recalled that the Royal Family announced the death of the renowned monarch earlier today, September 8.

The queen reportedly died peacefully at Balmoral and it comes just a few weeks after she celebrated her 70th anniversary on the throne.

Taking to his verified social media handle on the popular social media platform, Twitter, the former president wrote;

“Sad to hear the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. She carried her royal duties with grace, poise & dignity. An icon of pride not only to the British people but the Commonwealth. Our hearts go out to King Charles III and the Royal Family. May God grant her peaceful repose.”
