Born on August 12, 1996, he is affectionately known as “El Culichi.” He was signed by the Dodgers in 2012 and made his MLB debut in 2016. Urías achieved impressive accolades, leading the National League in wins in 2021 and earning the lowest run average in 2022. He was recognized as part of the All-MLB Second Team in both 2021 and 2022.

Urías’ journey in baseball began during his early teens when he played for the Mexico national youth team. At the age of 14, he crossed paths with Los Angeles Dodgers scout Mike Brito, who had a history of discovering talent like Fernando Valenzuela in the late 1970s.
