This comes after Francis Xavier Sosu failed to make an appearance in the court after he was being summoned. According to reports, the order was issued following a heated altercation between the prosecution and the defense in the courtroom.

Mr. Francis Xavier Sosu is facing legal threats after leading a demonstration in his area on October 25 to protest deteriorating roads. According to the police, the protest featured certain illegal behaviors, prompting an effort to arrest the MP.

Mr. Francis Xavier Sosu claims that when police attempted to arrest him on the day of the protest, they mistreated him. Mr. Sosu had missed the last two court hearings due to parliamentary duties.

The MP was called by the court after police failed to apprehend him for allegedly violating the public order law when he joined his constituents and vehicles in his constituency to protest the area’s poor roads on October 25, 2021.

In response to a hearing notice, a Deputy Clerk of Parliament, Eric Owusu Mensah, wrote to the Registrar of the Kaneshie District Court, noting that the MP was still on Parliamentary duty and outside of the province.
