The pinnacle came in the 2021 season when Georgia went undefeated in the regular season, clinching the National Championship with a win over Alabama.

In July 2022, Smart signed a 10-year contract extension, becoming the highest-paid coach in college football. The 2022 season saw Georgia maintain its dominance, finishing 12-0 in the regular season and securing back-to-back National Championships with a victory over TCU.

The 2023 season started with Georgia ranked #1. Despite a loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, Smart’s coaching prowess remained evident as Georgia triumphed over Florida State in the Orange Bowl with a historic 63-3 score, capping another remarkable season.
