The subsequent seasons saw continuous success, with highlights including an SEC title in 2017.
Under Kirby Smart’s leadership, Georgia consistently performed well in the following seasons, securing bowl victories and maintaining a strong presence in the SEC. The pinnacle came in the 2021 season when Georgia went undefeated in the regular season, clinching the National Championship with a win over Alabama.
In July 2022, Smart signed a 10-year contract extension, becoming the highest-paid coach in college football. The 2022 season saw Georgia maintain its dominance, finishing 12-0 in the regular season and securing back-to-back National Championships with a victory over TCU.
The 2023 season started with Georgia ranked #1. Despite a loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, Smart’s coaching prowess remained evident as Georgia triumphed over Florida State in the Orange Bowl with a historic 63-3 score, capping another remarkable season.
