Kojo Vypa Pays Homage To EBONY REIGNS In His Society – Track 6 Off His BIG DAWSON EP – February being the month of love is also known for being the month that took one of the biggest music stars in Ghana to her grave.

The highly rated female Dancehall artiste – Ebony Reigns met her demise on 8th February 2018 whilst returning from Sunyani to Accra after a visit to her mother. She died eight days before her 21st birthday.

Her assistant and longtime friend Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri and soldier Atsu Vondee were also killed in the fatal accident. The only survivor of the crash was the driver named Phinehas.
Ghanaians always use the day 8th of February to mark the death of our superstar who was highly expected to break into the world of music with her unmatched talent.

For this reason, the renowned rapper Desmond Prince Owusu known for his fearsome rap dexterity and flow on his debut Extended Play titled BIG DAWSON, which was released on 1st February 2024 after a classic listening/launch party at Lemon Lounge in Cape Coast decided to pay homage to Ebony Reigns in one of the songs on the EP.

In the last verse of his track 6 – SOCIETY on the Extended Play that is making waves in the country, he paid homage to the unforgotten Dancehall Queen – Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng popularly known by her stage name Ebony Reigns.

These are the words of Kojo Vypa and I quote;

This be the society we live in
Wo dze enyiwa si wo ho ah onnkyɛr ɛbɛgye boxNana Hemaa rest peace
In fact, you were queen indeed
