The President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Kwabena Yeboah, has paid a passionate appeal to government to come to the rescue of the local clubs as they battle the Covid-19 implications.

Currently all football activities have been suspended in the nation because of the pandemic.

He spoke in an interview with Happy FM that:

“If there is any way the government can cushion the financial plight of our clubs by providing some form of financial package to the clubs we will appreciate it. In the past government was sponsoring our clubs in Africa and we are at a crucial stage where clubs really need help.”

“So the government has played a role in supporting our clubs and if the government does not I am afraid some of the clubs may fold up”, he added.
