The ongoing controversy surrounding the bribe scandal which has rocked parliament has taken a different twist. The Editor-In-Chief of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has insisted that the money is not ¢3000 as purported. He said the amount paid to members of the Vetting Committee of Parliament to pave way for Mr Boakye Agyarko to be approved is a whooping ¢100,000.

“In all this saga, what are all heard is that the amount of money that went as bribe to the committee was ¢100, 000. And when three people go sharing ¢100,000 there will be some left. Maybe investigation could prove that the money was more than ¢100,000,” the seasoned journalist told Peace Fm morning show host.

This whole saga started when Mahama Ayariga, MP for Bawku Central made a startling revelation on Friday January 27, saying Minister of Energy designate Boakye Agyarko gave out ¢3000 to them induce their decision in his favour. Ayariga said the money was given to the chairperson of the committee Joe Osei-Owusu by Boakye Agyarko for onward transfer to them which he rejected it.

Mr Pratt has called for a full scale investigation into the matter. He said, “It is bit strange that five good MPS have come out to admit they took the money but returned it and yet people are claiming it’s not true. If it were to be just one MP it could be easy to conspire and lie against Alhaji Muntaka because they don’t like then I think it calls for investigations.
