English soccer powerhouse, Manchester City have reached their first ever UEFA Champions League final.

The team got to the final after beating French side, Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final of their Champions League encounter.

Manchester City won the encounter on a 4-1 aggregate after recording 2-1 and 2-0 wins in the first and second leg-matches respectively.

UEFA made a tweet on their official Twitter handle to congratulate them. The tweet reads;

“Blue circle Manchester City reach their first ever Champions League final!
Clapping hands sign @ManCity become 42nd club to reach the European Cup showpiece
Soccer ball Mahrez strikes in either half for hosts”

The club also announced that the win means they have set another record in the football space. They now hold the longest winning run by an English club in European Cup history. The post reads;

“With tonight’s win, we’ve broken the record for the longest winning run by an English club in European Cup history! (7)”

They await the winner of the next semi-final match between Spanish powerhouse, Real Madrid and English club, Chelsea.
