One of the major highlights of the recently held Global Citizen Festival in Ghana was the booing of the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.

During the show, the president of Ghana mounted the stage to give a speech about the impact of the show and before he could start speaking, boos were flying from all angles toward him.

Many people have shared their thoughts about the incident and the latest to do is astute Ghanaian journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni.

Taking to his verified social media handle on the popular social media platform, Twitter, he wrote;

“Mr President , for their selfish goals, chiefs, paid praise singers and sycophants will continue to sing insincere praises of you. But what you heard at the #globalcitizensfestival is the truest voice of the people, a referendum on your regime. You have two years to salvage it.

Some reactions that Manasseh’s post got are;

@MBanks133 – People wanted to throw sachet water at him, but then, they realised one is 50p. If u throw two off-target, ur 1gh is gone, so they decided to go with the booing.😂

@cupid_lorm – In as much as the people of Ghana demonstrated their sufferings by booing the President, I’ll let to mention that Nana Addo has so far been the number one promoter of tourism among all presidents in my lifetime.

@geenaeus – There is nothin he can do to save the remains of his dwindled image… he is irredeemably corrupt
