Megan Fox is an American actress who made her acting debut in the family film Holiday in the Sun, which was followed by numerous supporting roles in the film and television Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, as well as Hope & Faith.
Her breakout role was as Mikaela Banes in the blockbuster action film Transformers (2007), which she reprised in its sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). She also portrayed the titular character in the horror comedy Jennifer’s Body (2009), starred as April O’Neil in the superhero action film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) and its sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016), and starred as Reagan Lucas in the fifth and sixth seasons of the Fox sitcom New Girl (2016–2017).
Megan Fox has also made appearances in numerous magazines such as Maxim, Rolling Stone, and FHM. She is the recipient of several accolades, including two Scream Awards and four Teen Choice Awards. Megan Fox was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to parents Gloria Darlene and Franklin Thomas Fox.
She spent her childhood in the nearby Lockwood. Megan Fox’s father was a probation officer and her mother divorced when she was three years old. Her mother later remarried, and Megan Fox and her sister were raised by her mother and her stepfather Tony Tonaccio. Although she was raised “very strict Pentecostal”, she later attended Catholic school for 12 years. She said her parents were “very strict” and wouldn’t allow her to have a boyfriend or invite her friends over. She lived with her mother until she earned enough money to support herself.
Megan Fox began her dance and drama education in Kingston, Tennessee at the age of five. She attended dance classes at the local community center and joined the Kingston Elementary School choir and the Kingston Clippers swim team. Megan Fox suffers from a brachydactyly disorder called clubbed thumb syndrome, and has spoken publicly about obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, self-harm, and admitted to having low self-esteem. In 2013, she said her Christian faith is still very important to her and that she believes it keeps her feet on her ground.
Megan Fox and her then-husband Green were supporters of Generosity Water and funded the construction of more than ten wells for the organization. Megan Fox began dating actor Brian Austin Green in 2004 after meeting on the set of Hope & Faith. She was 18 and he was 30. According to Fox, Green was initially reluctant to start dating because of the age difference, stating, she had to convince him that “I’m a little more responsible, a more vocal person, and I have more than 18 years of age.” They got engaged in November 2006 and they called off their engagement in February 2009 but were reportedly engaged again on June 1, 2010. Megan Fox claimed she had been engaged to Green since 2006.
Megan Fox and Green married on June 24, 2010, in a private ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort on Maui. Together, they have three sons, born in 2012, 2014, and 2016. She was also a stepmother to Green’s son from a previous relationship. Megan Fox filed for divorce on August 21, 2015, a few days after she and Green announced their separation. By early 2016, they were back together and expecting their third child. On April 25, 2019, she filed to dismiss the divorce in Los Angeles, California.
In May 2020, Green announced that he and Megan Fox had separated after nearly ten years of marriage, and in November 2020, she filed for a second divorce against Green. The divorce was finalized on October 15, 2021.
In June 2020, weeks after the release of Machine Gun Kelly’s song “Bloody Valentine”, in which she was featured in the music video, she went public about her relationship with singer Machine Gun Kelly. On January 12, 2022, Megan Fox announced that the two were engaged.
