Memphis began his football career at the age of 8. He started with his home youth team Moordrecht in Holland. He moved to Sparta Rotterdam in 2003 and then to PSV in 2006. Memphis impressed his coaches in his first season. He made eight appearances- all coming on as a substitute- and scoring 3 goals. When he turned 12 years, he caught the attention of big clubs in the Eredivisie; Ajax, Feyenoord, and PSV. He stayed with PSV. Memphis had a great season in 2014/2015.
