I don’t fancy football that much but thanks to my football-crazed father, I heard tales about these legends, Abedi Pele (Ghana), George Weah (Liberia) and JJ Okocha (Nigeria).

In my research to support this article, I got to know JJ Okocha was the equivalent of Lionel Messi and Ronaldo put together-wow!

And our very own Abedi Pele (father of Dede and Jordan Ayew) was a master dribbler and a game changer.

That’s not all, there was another legend from Liberia called George Weah who was the only African to win FIFA World Player of the Year award.

In an exclusive interview with Starr Chat, George Weah, the former presidential aspirant was asked to choose the most skillful player between Abdei Pele and Okocha.

This is what he said:

“Abedi is a strong player, he’s a creative player but Jay Jay is more skillful.

Even me, Jay Jay has more techniques than me. All the things that Jay Jay does on the field, we don’t even do one percent of it.

For me, I don’t do tricks, I will score a good goal and when I am squeezed up, I know how to run around.

But to put the ball around and play with it, I give it to Jay Jay; he is an entertainer.

So Jay Jay is a legend when it comes to that; he is very creative, he is very smart and he knows how to do tricks.”
