Mr Ibu Wife: Is Mr Ibu Married?: Born on October 17, 1961, Mr. Ibu, officially known as John Ikechukwu Okafor is a Nigerian actor and comedian.

He developed a passion for acting at a younger age, has been consistent throughout his career, and became one of the most sought-after Nigerian actors.

Mr Ibu Wife: Is Mr Ibu Married?

As of November 2023, Mr Ibu has married twice. He married his first wife in 1998 but things went bad between them and they had to go their separate ways.

There is little information about Mr Ibu’s first wife other than the fact that she hails from his hometown, Nkanu West.

The comic actor in an interview revealed that his first marriage was an ugly experience and he had to stay away from women for some years after the marriage crashed.

He, however, didn’t the actual details of his ordeal in the marriage. Mr Ibu is currently married to Stella Marris. The couple tied the knot on 25 May 2010. They had their white wedding in 2015, five years after the traditional event.

In May 2021, he took to social media to celebrate 11 years of being married to his second wife

Earlier this year (2023), his second wife, Stella accused him of, among other things, having an affair with his adopted daughter, Jasmine.

In a video that went viral, Stella lamented how she’s been catering for their children all by herself despite the domestic abuse from the actor.

Mr. Ibu has been in the news for the past few weeks (October 2023) after he revealed that he was suffering from an ailment that threatened to amputate one of his legs.

According to him, he was struck by the problem while on a movie set with other Nollywood acts. He appealed to his fans and the public for prayers and financial assistance to cover his medical bills.

Additionally, he also shared a video of himself lying in a hospital bed, expressing his fear of losing his leg.

In November 2023, Mr. Ibu hit major headlines after his leg was amputated amid a health battle. Details of this development were revealed in a statement by his family on his official Instagram handle.

According to the statement, the award-winning actor had to undergo 7 successful surgeries to remove one of his legs to improve his chances of recovery. The statement read;

“We want to appreciate everyone that has come through for our dad, saying we are grateful is an understatement and only the good Lord can thank you all enough for every help you’ve rendered.

“As of 1 pm, noon today, Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery one of his legs had to be amputated. This development has been hard on us all but we’ve had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive”

The family has also appealed to Nigerians to support the actor.

“Please we are still soliciting support from well-meaning Nigerians at this stage Daddy is still one very delicate one and he needs all the help he can get”

Thank you, everyone, the Okafor family is grateful and we don’t take you for granted. In due time, Daddy will personally acknowledge everyone who supported him during this period as soon as he’s stable”
