Ghanaian midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso has blamed politics as the bane of Ghana’s failure in annexing any major continental glory for decades.

The player who was Ghana’s best player at the last edition of AFCON tourney held in Egypt told Angel TV that football administrators in the county ascribe politics to Ghana football and that has retarded their growth all this while.

He said “I will speak the truth today, do you know our problem about the game? Maybe we know but we don’t want to say it but i think politics ruin the Blacks Stars at times. When NDC is in power, NPP doesn’t want us to win and vice versa”.

Mubarak who now plays for Chinese club Jiangsu Suning F.C says we can all draw valuable lessons from Covid-19 and revamp football in the country especially the senior level after the pandemic.
