Deputy Minority Speaker of parliament and 2020 parliamentary candidate, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has rubbished claims that his daughter voted for him on his behalf during the polls on December 7.

Speaking to Citi FM about this issue which stirred a controversy on social media, Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka said that he did the thumbprinting himself but not what others suggested.

According to the incumbent MP of Asawase constituency, he only raised his 6-year-old girl’s hand to take her through the voting process.

He said,

If you see her, she’s only six years old. She doesn’t even understand what’s going on. I raised her thumb and did the thumbprinting; it was virtually me doing it. If I had given it to her, she would not have even known what to do. She’s my princess and I came with her during the last elections. I’m just taking her through the process.”
