The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has agreed to dismiss his cousin who happens to be the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta.

However, the president will not be doing that immediately because he wants the Finance Minister to seal the IMF deal before dismissing him.

The president made this known when some Members of Parliament from his party paid him a visit asking him to sack the finance minister for overseeing the downfall of the Ghanaian economy.

We learned that several NPP MPs opposed the President’s appeal during the meeting because they continue to demand the resignation of the Finance Minister.

Hon. Ken Ofori Atta’s competence as the Finance Minister has come under serious criticism following the abysmal performance of the Ghanaian currency against the dollar as well as the Ghanaian economy taking a down-turn.

Many Ghanaians have been looking forward to his dismissal or resignation, however, he has publicly reiterated that he does not have plans to resign adding that he is highly committed to bringing back the economy to life.
