After the 2015 general election, he was promoted to his previous role as Minister of State for School Standards. He retained this position during the premiership of Theresa May.
Gibb retained his position again as Minister of State for School Standards under the premiership of Boris Johnson, Theresa May’s successor.
Gibb was removed from the role in September 2021 and was re-appointed as Schools Minister on 26 October 2022 by Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.
