The Colorado Rockies selected Arenado in the 2009 MLB Draft. Instead of attending ASU, he signed with the team and made his professional debut in the minors with the Pioneer League’s Casper Ghosts. Arenado spent the next season with the South Atlantic League’s Asheville Tourists.
