It has been confirmed that one person has lost his life with ten others seriously injured following a gory accident which happened at Biakoye after several cars jammed between Worawora and Tapa Abotoase in the Oti Region.

According to reports, the fatal accident was said to have happened on Friday, June 18, 2021.
According to a witness, Bernard Yaw Ofori, who was also a casualty in the accident, one fast motorist passed his taxi car, but he lost control of the steering wheel, slamming into a Toyota Tundra car ahead of him.
The Tundra also somersaulted and smashed into other cars in front of him, injuring several people and killing one guy, Mr. Edem, in the process.
The majority of the casualties, who were traveling in a convoy to a funeral, had to be taken to the Worawora Government Hospital, where they have been getting treatment since. Some of them were rushed to the Ho Government Hospital.
Muabela Tolar, another victim also narrated that his friend, Mr. Edem died after the car somersaulted three times after the collision.
Ernest Herver who is the Deputy Health Service administrator of the Worawora Government Hospital confirmed the sad incident and added that most of the victims were in critical conditions upon their arrival at the hospital.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the government to supply the hospital with more emergency kits, adding that they might need another emergency ward since the old one is now used for COVID-19 patients.
