The Coalition of Commercial Transport Owner earlier revealed their intentions to embark on a nationwide strike today, Monday, Dec. 6 over measures to force the government to remove certain taxes on petrol to reduce pumping.

The Coalition claims that the government failed to respond to their demands for tax cuts two weeks ago, prompting them to join a sit-down strike. Members of the group have been asked to wear red belts to express their dissatisfaction with the government.

The Association of Private Transport Drivers consists of Ghana Private Road and Transport Union (GPRTU), Association of Tipper Truck Drivers, Harbor Transport Owners, Ghana National Cargo Transport Association, Ghana Committed Drivers Association, Concerned Drivers Association, Digital Drivers, Commercial motorbike riders, best known as Okada, Chamber of Petroleum Consumers among others are part of the demonstration.

Well, a video has been sighted on social media that captures the unpleasant moments of hundreds of passengers are stranded at the Madina station.

According to the narration in the viral video, buses are available to the station to convey the passengers to their workplaces and destinations but the drivers of the vehicles have refused to work over the strike.

Further reports indicate that some of the commercial buses at the station are loading passengers while others have refused to work.
