According to reports, Police were called to Kent’s Lilyfield residence at about 10.30 am on Friday, May 12 following reports of a domestic dispute.

Police allege Kent and the 33-year-old woman had an argument before he assaulted her. The pair were both arrested for their role in the altercation, with the woman subsequently released without charges.

Kent was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with common assault and choking a person without consent. He was granted bail and will face court next Wednesday, Amy 17.

In a statement, Newscorp said Kent will temporarily stop writing for the Daily Telegraph and won’t appear on Fox League in the coming weeks.

‘Paul Kent has been stood down from his duties with News Corp and Fox Sports while he deals with this personal matter,’ the statement read.
