A Ghanaian cop, Sergeant Augustine Owusu Ansah, has been BUSTED after he was caught on tape bragging about how he helps criminals and fraudsters in their nefarious acts whilst releasing those in custody.

In the video, the officer was seen accepting money from some civilians at a fuel station in Assin Fosu in an apparent bid to help them perpetrate their criminal acts.

To this end, the Central Regional Police Command has detained one the officer whilst investigation into his unlawful act continues. The Central Regional Police PRO, DSP Irene Oppong, who spoke to Citi News, indicated that the conduct of the officer amounts to corruption and has been referred to the Regional CID for investigations.

“The Central Regional Police Command wants to inform the general public that its attention has been drawn to a video that has gone viral involving this Seargent Augustine Owusu Ansah of Assin Fosu Division who was seen taking money from a civilian in a criminal case which amounts to corruption.

“Currently the case has been referred to the Regional CID to investigate and report to the Regional Command for the necessary action. The Police officer has been detained to also assist in investigation. The Police is assuring the general public that painstaking investigation will be undertaken to bring the persons to book.”
