The NPP’s Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe Abroyen, popularly known as Abronye DC has disclosed that President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo rejected a loan from the LGBTQI community in 2017.

He said that the loan was offered in order for the Nana Addo-led government to legalize the pass the legislation of the practice of homosexuality in Ghana.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, Abronye DC stated that the President this offer when the country was dire in need of funds to pay some debts it owes Nigeria for gas supply which the Mahama government was unable to settle.

He said the President believes that the legalization of homosexuality in Ghana does not conform with the traditions and laws of the land.

“Ghana needed $180 million to pay for gas supply for our electricity because although Ghanaians were paying for electricity, Mahama decided not to pay so Buhari cut the supply of Gas to Ghana because of this. The LGBTQI Community came in and said they can give the country $2 billion but their condition for the loan was to legalize homosexuality but the President of Ghana rejected it because he knew the health implications,” he said.

Recall, the President has stated that same-sex marriage will never be legalized under his administration as President.
