The president of Ghana, H.E Akufo Addo and wife, and First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has carried out a Coronavirus test and results indicated they tested negative.

Ghanaians can now rest assured that the health of Akufo Addo is in good condition and safe after rumors flooded traditional and new media that he could be harboring COVID-19.

Akufo Addo was suspected of being infected with COVID-19 following his trip to Norway where he came into contact with some Eskimos which photos of about the report trended online.

Some Ghanaians also suggested he contracted the virus from his interaction with the Norwegian ambassador who was reported to have been infected with COVID-19.

At a press briefing hosted by the Ministry of Information on April 1, 2020, the President Akufo Addo’s personal physician rubbished claims the president if infected with the virus after revealing the status of his health.

According to the physician, president Akufo Addo and his entire family underwent the test and it came out negative for all of them.

“On the day before the President’s birthday, we tested him and the first lady and his daughters and all the staff of this household and I am happy to announce that all the tests came back negative she” said.
