The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo-Damkwa Akufo Addo, His Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and other dignitaries have been spotted at the funeral of Sir John.

On July 1, 2020, in the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission and General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) died away.

Samira Bawumia, the Second Lady, Frema Osei Opare, the Chief of Staff, Alan Kyerematen, the Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, and Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah are among the dignitaries in attendance.

The rest are; National Organiser, Sammi Awuku, Youth Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, and the General-Secretary of the NDC, Johnso Asiedu Nketia among others.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life, governmental agencies, and the media have descended to the Sakora Wonoo township to express their condolences to the family.

All funeral services will take place at Sakora Wonoo, following the covid-19 safety regulations.

On Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 8 a.m., a thanksgiving ceremony will be performed at the Sakora Wonoo Seventh Day Adventist Church in his honor.
