Mauricio Pochettino has stated that he has spoken to Lionel Messi about a possible transfer, with sources telling ESPN that the player’s arrival might have an impact on the futures of Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba.
PSG sporting director Leonardo and chairman Nasser al Khelaifi have been in contact with Messi’s father, Jorge, for some time and are closely involved in the talks with him.
Pochettino confirmed that information during a press conference held ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 season opener.
“Of course [signing Messi] is a possibility, the club is working on it and if there is any information we will communicate it as soon as possible,”
he said.
