Mason Greenwood, a 21-year-old forward and striker for Manchester United who was initially given bail following his detention on accusations of rape, violence, and making death threats, has since been detained once more on suspicion of violating his bail terms.

Greenwood, who hasn’t played for Manchester United since January, was detained early on Saturday on suspicion of violating the terms of his bail by getting in touch with the alleged victim.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson told The Sun;

“Greater Manchester Police are aware of an allegation regarding a 21-year-old man breaching his bail conditions and an arrest has been made on Saturday 15 October 2022.

“Enquiries are ongoing at this time.”

On February 2, Greenwood was granted bail and has been waiting to hear what will become of him ever since. The Bradford-born attacker made his first-team debut at age 17, barely six years after enrolling in the club’s development academy.

He was supposed to answer his bail on April 30, but after a court hearing in June, the date was postponed.

Even though Manchester United has suspended him, he continues to be paid his £75,000 weekly pay while any criminal investigations are ongoing.

Following the charges, Greenwood was sacked by sponsors Nike and was expelled from FIFA 22.
