Roger Waters Bio, Parents, Wife, Children, Siblings: Roger Waters, officially known as George Roger Waters is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and composer.

He developed a love for music at an early age and has been consistent throughout his career rising through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after acts in the entertainment space.

Roger Waters is known as co-founded the progressive rock band Pink Floyd which was formed in 1965.

Initially, he was the band’s bassist but following the departure of Syd Barrett (singer, and songwriter) in 1968 he also became their lyricist, co-lead vocalist, and conceptual leader.

The band achieved international success with several projects including; The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and The Final Cut.

By the early 1980s, Pink Floyd had become one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful groups in popular music. Due to creative differences, Waters left the band in 1983 which led to a legal dispute over the use of the band’s name and material. They later settled out of court.

As a solo artist, Waters staged one of the largest rock concerts in history, The Wall – Live in Berlin, with an attendance of 450,000 in 1990.

In 2015, Waters reunited with Pink Floyd bandmates Nick Mason, Richard Wright, and David Gilmour for the Live 8 global awareness event, the group’s only appearance with Waters since 1981.

He has toured extensively as a solo act since 1999 but his tour, the Wall Live tour of 2010–2013 was the highest-grossing tour by a solo artist at the time.

Waters was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005 as a member of the band, Pink Floyd.

Roger Waters was born in Great Bookham, United Kingdom to Eric Fletcher Waters (father) and Mary Waters (mother).

His father was a religious Christian and a pacifist. During the early years of World War II, he was exempted from military service as a conscientious objector and he served as an ambulance driver.

Eric was born in 1914 and died in 1944 at the age of 30. Not much is known about Mary, He was born in 1913 and died in 2009 at the age of 96.
