Her first marriage was to Bill Pentland, a motel clerk she met while in Colorado. The pair tied the knot in 1974 and separated on January 16, 1990.
After Roseanne and Bill separated, four days later on January 20, 1990, Roseanne got married to Tom Arnold and became known as Roseanne Arnold during the marriage.
Tom was also a comedian. The pair met in 1983 in Minneapolis, where he opened for her stand-up comedy act. In 1988, Roseanne brought Arnold onto her sitcom, Roseanne, as a writer.
Roseanne filed for divorce from Tom Arnold on April 18, 1994. Their efforts to have children were unsuccessful and hence they divorced.
