A Security man identified as Samuel Clottey has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the Accra Circuit Court for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old daughter of a police officer.
The convict, Samuel Clottey, alias Barton, pleaded guilty to defilement and was convicted on his own plea by the court presided over by Ms. Priscilla Dapaah Mireku.
Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire presented the case to the court by saying that the victim lived with her family on the same compound as Samuel Clottey.
Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire said that the victim was frying pancake and the convict requested some of the pancakes and asked her to bring it to his house.
He told the court that when the victim went to give the pancake to Clottey in the company of her peers, he told her peers to wait outside, adding that “Clottey lured the victim into his room, removed her dress and pant and had sexual intercourse with her.”
After having his way with the victim, Clottey gave her GHC3.00 to shut up.
On July, 19 2020, the victim informed her grandmother about what happened to her, saying that Clottey has slept with her on five different occasions. The grandmother out of rage, informed the victim’s parent about the incident.
Samuel Clottey was then arrested immediately and arraigned before court.
