Football icon, Didier Drogba has paid tribute to the late former Ghanaian President Jerry John Rawlings.

Rawlings, Ghana’s longest-serving head of state, was confirmed dead on Thursday, November 12. He is reported to contracted coronavirus which led to his death.

Rawlings was in intensive care unit at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra before dying.

Drogba wrote on Twitter: “My sincere condolences to my dear Ghanaian Brothers for the loss of The President Jerry John Rawlings. He was a strong believer of democracy, a leader who worked hard for a social and economical transformation while leading by example.”
