The 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament has come to an end and the tournament was won by Senegal.
The final match was between Senegal and Egypt and it was played at the Cameroonian capital, Yaounde.
The game was a keenly contested one as none of the teams was able to win the game during the normal 90 minutes as the game was forced into extra time.
The game still ended in a draw game at the end of the extra time as the only way that the teams could be separated was penalities.
At the end of the penalty shoot-out, it was Senegal that carried the day and they did so as the penalty shoot-out ended 4-2.
This is the first time that Senegal has won the trophy and this comes after they lost the last final to Algeria in 2019. Congratulations to Senegal!!!
