Simphiwe Dana slams minister Mthethwa for not making enough effort for South African artists.

Singer Simphiwe Dana made a bold move when she recently posted on her Twitter handle telling South Africans to do better when it comes to paying their artist.

In her post, she mentioned how it was a good feeling that she was now able to pay for her utility bills. She blames the minister for art and culture for not putting in the effort to support South African artists.

In her post she wrote and as a caption, “For the first time in a while, I can pay for bills. You don’t know what it means to me. South Africa do better by your artists! This is so embarrassing ”.

She went on to explain why she said that in the first place with her second post on the matter.

She wrote: “I’m saying this because I’ve not been able to pay my bills. I understand I’m a higher tier artist! I’m just scared for the ones! And Whether they’re ok. I think I’m talking to my government at this point and asking for them to be kinder to us. We work, we don’t deserve this!”
